The travel times that you should expect to travel to a destination like Los Cabos, Mexico, is going to be somewhat different depending on where you plan on departing from in New Zealand. As an example, a trip from Auckland International (AKL) to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), Los Cabos, will take about 17h. While there are no direct flights to Los Cabos from any airport in New Zealand, that doesn’t mean there are not some great Los Cabos flight deals to be had. By far one of the most iconic landmarks you will find in this area is The Arch of Cabo San Lucas. This very distinctive rock formation sits in the water just off the coast and is best viewed on boat tours; or, it is a great place to get up close and do some snorkeling or rock climbing. If you would prefer to relax at a great beach in the area, then you will want to make it to El Medano Beach, which not only is a great beach for swimming and sunbathing but is also an area that offers a number of dining establishments to check out. A great place for a sunset stroll that offers plenty of things to see and do is Marina Cabo San Lucas.
As a resident of New Zealand that has plans to travel to Los Cabos, Mexico, you will need a valid passport; that passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival in Mexico. You will not need a visa to visit here, but you will need a Mexico tourist card. You can get this card upon your arrival or you can also get it through most airlines that fly to this destination; the cost of the card is around MX$ 594 (NZ$ 41).
