Several different cities in New Zealand have become known for offering Brussels flight deals, including both Auckland and Queensland. If you will be departing from Auckland for Brussels, Belgium, you can expect for your trip to typically take you between 28 and 33h on average. Those that are departing from Queenstown instead will have a journey that lasts around 34 to 50h. The length of your trip will depend not only on where you are departing from, but also on how many layovers you have and how long these layovers are scheduled for.
Unfortunately, nonstop flights from New Zealand to Brussels are not currently available. Depending on where you are flying from, you can expect to have either two or three layovers during your journey. Trips originating at Auckland Airport (AKL) and arriving at Brussels Airport (BRU) will normally have two layovers, and these may take place in Dubai or Kuala Lumpur. If you will be flying from Queenstown Airport (ZQN) for Brussels Airport, Brussels, you will most likely have three layovers, and these often occur in Auckland, Munich, and Singapore.
There are a few different ways that you can travel from Brussels Airport to the city centre. One of the easiest ways is to drive, which will normally take you between 30 and 35min depending on traffic conditions. Local taxis are usually waiting outside of the Arrivals Terminal and you can also choose to book a ridesharing service, such as Uber. Public transportation is an option as well, such as the IC train line. If you will be taking the train, you can expect it to take around 25min to reach downtown Brussels.
Brussels is a unique and vibrant city that has numerous sights and attractions for you to visit. Take a look at some of the town’s impressive architecture by going to the Grand Place, which is located in the central square of the city. You can also head to the Atomium, a landmark building that was created in the 1950s for the World Fair and now houses a museum that educates visitors about the exhibition. If you enjoy art, you won’t want to miss out on going to the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, which contain over 20,000 pieces for you to look at, including drawings, paintings, and sculptures.
If you have a New Zealand passport and you are planning to visit Brussels, or anywhere else in Belgium, for a period of less than 90 days, you do not need to worry about having a visa for your trip. You will need to have in your possession a valid passport, and its expiration date must be at least six months after your scheduled return flight to New Zealand. You may also be requested to provide proof that you have already booked your return flight.
