Quite possibly one of the most famous landmarks in Lombok is Mount Rinjani, which is an active volcano that contains a crater lake in the centre. Gili Islands makes for a great place to explore coral reefs, see sea turtles and also offers long, white-sand beaches to explore and enjoy. Gili Trawangan is a very interesting place to visit because it contains a tunnel from the World War II era. This is also an excellent spot to go for a long walk or a bike ride around the island. If surfing is something you would like to do during your trip to Lombok, a great beach for that is Selong Belanak Beach, which also contains a number of sunbeds to enjoy during an afternoon at the beach.
