How long is the flight to Heathrow?

You can fly from New Zealand to Heathrow, England, from a couple of domestic cities, and you shouldn’t have any trouble finding flights. They leave at least twice a day, with the main routes flying out from Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch. If you leave from Auckland, the flights will take between 25h and 48h. Flying out of Wellington will see you travelling for anything from 31h 30min to 54h. You can also depart from Christchurch, and these flights will take from 30h to about 52h 30min. All of them will land at the same airport in the Heathrow neighbourhood.

Are there direct flights to Heathrow?

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to fly directly from New Zealand to Heathrow at present. One of the more direct routes involves one stop, with the intermediate airport depending on the airline you choose. One route is from Auckland Airport (AKL) to London Heathrow Airport, Heathrow (LHR), stopping over at Dubai Airport (DXB) on the way. The other makes its stop at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). There are also two-stop flights from Auckland, which land at Kuala Lumpur Airport (KUL) and then Dubai or Dubai and then Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), before flying to Heathrow. Flying from Wellington Airport (WLG), you’ll make two stops as well, the first at Auckland and the second at Dubai. One or two of them fly via Auckland and Singapore. You can fly from Christchurch Airport (CHC), if you prefer; on these routes, your layover airports will be exactly the same as the routes from Wellington. You can find Heathrow flight deals easily on Cheapflights.
