However, keep in mind that some destinations with strict visa requirements may require proof of onward travel. While your airline may sell one-way tickets, it’s worth checking if your destination requires additional documentation, particularly for international trips.

According to Cheapflights data, some of the best deals for one-way domestic flights in the past two weeks were Hamilton to Wellington at $49; Auckland to Christchurch at $60; and Taupo to Auckland at $64.

You can score cheap one-way tickets to international destinations too. Recent Cheapflights data highlights some incredible deals, like Auckland to Maroochydore for $180; Hamilton to Sydney for $189; and Hamilton to Coolangatta for $194.
