One of the major attractions in Rhode Island is the Gilded Age mansion, built by Cornelius Vanderbilt in 1895 and located in Newport. This pathway follows the rocky shore, with views of the sea and the rocks below and the Gilded Age mansions’ gardens above. Many visitors enjoy taking a trip to the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island. The zoo is cage-free and allows the animals to live in an environment closer to their natural habitat, making this zoo different from most others and a unique experience for visitors. Here you can see snow leopards, alligators, zebras and many more animals, and it is a great kid-friendly place to visit. A Botanical Centre is also located within the park. Throughout the year, Rhode Island is host to various festivals, such as the Newport Folk Fest, Newport Jazz Festival and Newport International Boat Festival. Other events and attractions worth a visit for music lovers include the Al Fresco on the Hill, Annual Greek Festival and Bayside Beat Live.
