pulled in to return car at Charlotte airport at 12:30am. Sign said it was open until 1am. Car blocking the entrance to the returns, no one in the car, no one on staff at the return center. There was no way to return the car; we were forced to return to return it at 4:30am. The Hertz rep I talked with on the phone said "there is nothing i can do to help you". Terrible, and I should be completely reimbursed for this entire rental.

Avis policy prohibits the rental of a car without a return flight or major credit card. That was not disclosed at the time of reservation. The bigger issue was that the agent lied and said no rental car company in the airport would rent with one of those two things. Untrue! Dollar and Hertz both rented to the people the Avis agent turned away.

Horrible company. I showed up and they told me they only had 4 cars left which were considerably smaller than the one i booked so we ended up having to cancel the confirmation and quickly go to the airport and rent a car with a different company.

Had to call twice to get them to answer the phone when I arrived. They said they'd send the shuttle and I'd see it in 10-15 minutes. Waited over 20 minutes, and no one arrived. I tried to call again, and no one answered. Gave them until I downloaded and checked Uber & Lyft to come. They never showed up and I ended up using Lyft to take me to the office and using ride share during my trip.

good on gas. sticker on windshield blocked some of the driver's view, empty cans in backseat, they demanded proof of my own personal car insurance or buy insurance from them and also demanded to see proof of my flight out BEFORE i could take the car. Nothing about this was on their website. upon return, we called as per instructions but no one picked up for 45 minutes. finally called corporate office and they told me to wait until the shuttle swings by, which it did. I called the rental office once more and FINALLY someone picked up but shuttle took 30 minutes for a 10 minute ride to the airport. At the drop off site, 12 other people were waiting for a ride to their flights. Five of them were in danger of missing their flights and took an uber. Badly run business, intrusive rental criteria, sloppy maintenance to the point of being dangerous (windshield obstruction). We can't recommend using this car rental company to anyone else for any reason, as their service is sub-par across the board.

Vehicle is new, very comfortable, ran fantastic. Very easy to rent a car at this airport and to return it. The you g lady who took me to my van was awesome!

The guy working at the desk is unfriendly and didn’t seem to enjoy his job working with people. Second time I’ve had the same experience with someone working at this counter at this airport. When I pulled a van around to pick up my family at baggage claim we realized someone had not put the flooring back correctly and it was difficult for them to quickly get in because they were two huge holes when you open the side van doors. We had to find a good spot once we left the airport where we could get out and put the flooring back the way it was supposed to be. I cannot imagine how difficult this would have been if I were picking up children instead of Teenagers. The seats fold down into the floor and someone had apparently pulled the seats back up where they belong but never bothered to put the flooring back right when they were cleaning it.
