Vudu Café

Nestled in the heart of Queenstown, cosy Vudu Café is so popular that the owners had to open up another café further down the street. From baked goods to a fabulous and extensive brunch menu, which includes a generous amount of gluten free options, Vudu really has it all. Locals will tell you it has the best coffee in town with latte bowls for $5. If there is a line, the wait is most certainly worth it.

Joe’s Garage

Part of a small New Zealand chain, hip Joe’s Garage won’t disappoint with its laid back garage atmosphere and delicious brunch menu. The fruit crumble and muesli should not be overlooked, packed full of nuts and topped with freshly grated apple this is a Joe’s favourite. The diner styled savoury options cater to small and larger proportions so there is room to fit in something sweet as well.

Pier 19

Right next to the lakeside, Pier 19 is the best spot to enjoy the beauty of the stunning Remarkable ranges while watching the steamship dock. On crispy mornings staff provide an abundance of blankets and switch on the outdoor heaters so customers can enjoy the site before them without getting hypothermia! Make sure to try the whitebait omelette, a west coast NZ fresh-water favourite. This venue certainly wins for views and of course its extra-tasty brunch.

Bobs Weigh

A little café with a big reputation and a local favourite, what more could you ask for? Situated on Shotover Street, the breakfast menu is served until 4pm and I wasn’t lying when I said the space was small but what they lack in size is made-up for in their extra-large food portions. Picture massive pancakes and a Big Breakfast that many reviewers agree will fill you up for the day. The liveliness and atmosphere is another reason why this gem packs out, look out for Mary on the till she is a hoot!

Ferg burger is apparently an institution in Queenstown. I can see why. #fergburger   A photo posted by Benjamin Cusick (@bennyq29) on

Ferg Burger

Yes you have read correctly, a burger joint has been given the number five brunch ranking. Anyone who has visited Queenstown will tell you that this is by means not a mistake and the line out the door at any time of the day is a dead giveaway. So skip the night time crowd and why not head there for brunch? The Bombay chicken is a must with mango chutney and coriander yoghurt sure to leave a sensation in the mouth. If you’re a red meat fan make the most of the NZ prime beef burgers on offer – a brunch to fill you until dinner.
