The cabin crew were as always friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more. Although the flight in business was under occupied there were a couple of things not available!

Where are the most popular flight destinations in Poland?

The most popular flight destination in Poland, according to our users, is Warsaw, followed by Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan and Gdansk.

What is the best way to travel around Poland

Air travel in Poland offers regular flights between Warsaw, Kraków, Gdansk, and other Polish cities. Travel by car is more flexible but can take longer. A drive from Kraków to Warsaw will take 3-5h and from Warsaw to Gdansk about 5-6h. Train travel is a good way to cover long distances. The intercity trains link most of the big cities. Poland's bus services travel everywhere with costs and journey times that are similar to the trains. Buses from Kraków to Zakopane, a popular day trip, are quicker and more affordable than trains.

  • How long is the flight to Poland?

Flights to Poland from New Zealand are generally long hauls from 31h to over 50h. New Zealand's international airports are Auckland Airport (AKL) and Christchurch International Airport (CHC). Both are busy airports with international flights and modern amenities. Poland's airports are Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) and John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice (KRK). Both of these airports have accessible transport in the form of buses, taxis, or car hires to the city centres.

  • Where can you get direct flights to Poland from?

Unfortunately, being such a long haul, there are currently no non-stop flights from New Zealand to Poland. Most cheap flights to Poland have stopovers with a variety of airlines servicing the routes. Stopovers from both Auckland and Christchurch include Hong Kong, Singapore, Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, and Helsinki. The different airlines servicing these routes are Lufthansa, Finnair, and Singapore Airlines.

  • What are some things to do in Poland?

Poland's vibrant cities are filled with art and culture and are great places to start exploring and travelling from. The Wieliczka Salt Mine, an ancient working salt mine, is now a major attraction. It is home to the Chapel of St Kinga, where everything is carved out of the rock salt walls. Deep into the mine, the salty underground lake is an amazing sight. The 13th Century Old Town Market Place in Warsaw, restored to its original state, is the place to visit cafés and restaurants, mingle with street art sellers, and souvenir stalls. Located nearby are the Adam Mickiewicz Museum of Literature and the main branch of the Historical Museum of Warsaw. Oskar Schindler's original factory now houses two museums. The Museum of Contemporary Art is in the factory, as well as a branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow. The Crooked Forest outside the town of Gryfino is an interesting sight. A small grove of pine trees, in a forest surrounded by normal pine trees, growing at a strange angle, all bending towards the north. The unusual scene is peaceful to hike through and wonder at the cause of their crookedness. Some sobering tourist attractions are the Auschwitz I and the Auschwitz II–Birkenau concentration camps, found about an hour's drive from Krakow. You need to take part in a guided tour to see the camps and crematoriums.

  • Do I need a passport or visa to fly to Poland?

As you seek your Poland flight deals, check what your passport and visa requirements are. New Zealand passport holders, fortunately, don't need a visa for a visit of under 90 days in any 180-day period. Please make sure that your passport is valid for at least three months from your date of departure from Poland. It also needs at least two blank pages.
